Oh how the years go by...

So today I found an old disc with pics of lil' J from 3 summers ago when she was just 2 years old.

How is it possible that she's already gone from that, to this:

*sigh* Oh, how I miss that round little baby face, those chubby little baby hands.

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Oh, what a week. Where to start, where to start...

First off, let me say that Crocs are ugly. No adult should EVER wear them in public. (Not a Not Me! Monday-ism...they really are ugly!) So I didn't. Every single day this week. And I did not, on one occasion, wear them with pink striped socks. Even though pink looks awesome with blue.
OK, you know that patient on Grey's Anatomy that got hit by a bus and had his face turned into hamburg? Some crazy chick in my house was screaming and throwing things at the TV when it turned out to be George. Not sure who she was but man, was she scary.

I love baking. And I'm an awesome baker. So there's no way it could have been me that made these too-big cupcakes...
or used a knife to trim the edges of said too-big cupcakes...

or slathered said cupcakes with globs of chocolate frosting in a pitiful attempt to hide the now-crumby edges.

Nope. Was. Not. Me.

By the way, they were awful. Absolutely terrible. And I didn't eat about 6 of them.

And in case you're wondering, of course I did not lick the beaters or eat spoonfuls of leftover frosting. That's just gross.

Happy dance? What happy dance? No, that wasn't me jumping and twirling joyously about after making my first sale on Etsy. I'm much more dignified and composed than that. Not to mention coordinated...

Also...did not shamelessly plug The Laughing Girl on Etsy here, on every forum I belong to, on facebook, and in e-mails to absolutely every person I have ever had cyber-contact with.

In more jewelry-related news...I did not break a Swarovski crystal heart pendant while trying to put it on a jump ring. Also did not get a shard of the not-broken crystal lodged firmly in my right pinky, which did not result in the smearing of blood across my freshly-laundered comforter and the utterance of certain colorful 4-letter words. And it didn't take 5 days to get it out. In fact, I'm pretty sure there's none of it still stuck in there for all eternity.

Someone insisted on taking photo after photo of lil J's gappy smile. I don't know who, and I don't know why. It's just a missing tooth. What's the big deal? And it's not like it makes her any cuter.

Who on earth would eat ice cream twice in one day? Not me...wouldn't want to ruin my girlish figure, ya know...
I am not addicted to blogging. I am not addicted to blogging. I AM NOT addicted to blogging. And Facebook? I did not discover how utterly fabulous it is this week.

New items in Etsy store

The new items shown in this post are now available at The Laughing Girl on Etsy. These are some of my favorite pieces to date, and I especially love this one:

I'm not generally a fan of the color pink, but for some reason I love it paired with certain other colors. It just looks...juicy and delicious when combined with red. I know that sounds weird, perhaps, but I see that color combo and I just want to dig into a bowl of big, ripe cherries. Mmm. Or maybe I'm just hungry...

I also like pink with orange:

It's just so fun and unique and summer-y. Is it weird that I have a shirt, flip flops, a scarf, and 2 grosgrain ribbon belts in this color combo?

My road-trip mix tape

Packy by The Elders

if nothing else, this song will keep everyone awake! If you're not singing along, you're not fit to drive.

Lon-dubh by Julie Fowlis

A Scottish Gaelic take on a Beatles classic (Blackbird, for those of you who, like me, aren't fluent in Gaelic...). It's quirky and fun and really, no reason needed. Quit thinking about why and just enjoy it. :)

Calliope House/The Cowboy Jig by Alasdair Fraser

Because I couldn't think of anything else in particular so I randomly chose it from my iTunes library. It's awesome, so why not?

The Ice Cream Factory has the best dessert

Three words...Half moon sundae. OMG to diiiiiiieeeeeeeee for! A half moon cookie (sorry to all you non-NYers who don't even know what that is!) topped with soft chocolate and vanilla twist ice cream, whipped cream and hot fudge. It's like, half a week's worth of calories in a bowl but soooooo worth it.

I like to relax with

Jewelry making is my great de-stress-ifier. I don't know why but there's something very relaxing and soothing about using the beads to make a pattern and it's so satisfying to see the finished product.

My newest pieces...not up on Etsy yet, but I will try to list them tomorrow after work.
